Learn to Use the Open Number Line as a Visual Representation for Recording Addition and Subtraction Strategies
An open number line is an empty number line used to record children’s addition and subtraction strategies. It is a model that shows the relationship between addition and subtraction. This workshop will focus on how to introduce the open number line and how to record various multi-digit addition and subtraction strategies on the open number line. Participants will view videos and engage in a variety of activities.
